Hi All,
I sent h1b extension application to california center on june 22nd and my application is still not approved. My current visa was valid until July 30th. I need to travel to India on Dec 10th due to urgent reasons . Please suggest what should I do
1. Can I travel while my extension is pending?
2. Can I raise a service request to speed up the processing?
2. or Upgrading to PP is the only option?
I do have EAD and advance parole through my husband's GC application. If I use parole for travel what happens to my H1b visa and GC application filed through my employer. My visa will still be valid or not?
Please help...

1. There is nothing/ no one who can stop you from travelling if you want. The question to worry about is can you come back ;) (I know it is a smart alec answer, but couldn't resist it - and that is indeed the bottom line).
2. SR to speed up processing might not be of much help
3. PP will certainly make it time bound - however, even in case of PP, they can send the application for administrative process, which can still take more than the time you have
Now, what happens in case you travel while the application is still pending? Your application for extension will be considered abandoned, and for re-entry, you will necessarily need to use AP. And since your extension is considered abandoned, you will necessarily need to use EAD to work, even for your current employer (that had filed the extension).

It's only IV members. We did decide on few things last time, We have some new ideas, to talk. Obviously we need more people to carry on with the efforts...There are several private bills that are being placed in the queue as well as I see a separate bill for foreign nurses is coming up for discussion, we I feel we should talk to our lawmakers to bail us out of the EB-3/EB-2 India/china messWho other than IV is expected or invited in this call? Do we have any agenda, or just a brain storming?

Hello everyone,
My driver's license has come up for renewal in Feb 2009. I have 2 yrs EAD.I have send my H1 for renewal but it has not got yet approved..
My employer suggessted that I use my EAD card to get my license renewed. In Ideal case I would like to use my approved H1 to renew my license. However since its taking time for my H1 renewal can I use my EAD card to get my license renewed.

I got my receipt number for H1b application and its been more than a week but i still cannot check my status online on USCIS website.
It says case is not found ,even tried calling customer service .
Does it take time to get uploaded online ?
Did anyone else face this problem
I am not getting any information from my employer.
Is there any other way we can find out if USCIS accepted my application.

USCIS has announced that it has redesigned the Permanent Resident Card (green card) with enhanced security features - and a "new" color. For many years the card has been white, pink before that, and green a long time ago.

Holographic images, laser engraved fingerprints, and high resolution micro-images will make the card nearly impossible to reproduce. Tighter integration of the card design with personalized elements will make it difficult to alter the card if stolen. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) capability will allow Customs and Border Protection officers at ports of entry to read the card from a distance and compare it immediately to file data. Finally, a preprinted return address will enable the easy return of a lost card to USCIS.
Existing card holders don't need to do anything. They will get new cards as they apply for renewals or replacements in the normal course.

I have a question regarding Multiple I-140s.
I applied for I-140 (PD: 2006) and it got approved in 11/2006;
I applied for LC-sub (PD:2004) and it is pending with USCIS
I applied for 485 in July 2007, My question is which PD will USCIS consider? Does it take the one with approve I140 or the pending one ? form 485 does not show the PD anywhere.

This shouldn't cause any problem... My GC was approved in August while i was in India. On my return two weeks after the approval, the officer allowed me in on AP. I showed him the printouts of my approval email and he said you can use your green card next time you go out of the country.

I am in a similar situation and need to travel. Applied for my AP on Apr/20/2010. I have put in an expedited request a week ago but still no response. Just booked an Infopass appointment for Feb/04/2011. Wanted to make it is fine and any suggestions on what I should carry with me.

Hi-
My H1 visa is getting expired in Sep'08 and I will be going to to India during Nov'08 for my wedding, followed by my H1 Visa stamping/H4 for my wife at Chennai Consulate.
My question is, in a normal scenario how long does it takes for the H4 dependent Visa approval/Passport Issue ? Does it differs from each of the consulate office in India ??
Because I heard from some of my friends, that lately the US consulate in India does the back ground checking for the dependent visa(H4) and it
takes minimum of 4 weeks of time to approve the VISA and send it to you.
As I don't have vacation and need to report to the client, I am planning to return to US with in 3 weeks from the date of marriage.
Would it be possible to get mine & my wife's visa before 3.5 weeks of time ??
Lately, if anyone of you have gone through this kind of scenario, please update me on this. I truly appreciate it.

Who are those guys, bloody eyes, and the guy with glasses in the Ozzfest 05 photo? I guess I don't know who John 5 is either, looks like he'd play for MM. ...guess other than Sabb and Maiden, arenarock aint my thing.

John5 was playing guitar for Rob Zombie in that photo taken at Ozzfest.
He has played guitar for a lot of people. He's mostly a solo guitarist. He's pretty decent.
He's also played in and/or on the following people's CDs: Leah Andreone,David Lee Roth,Two,Ryan Downe,Marilyn Manson to name a few.
Bloody eyes photo is Chad Gray is the singer for the band "MUDVAYNE" (not my thing at all, Nu-metal stuff, but kind of fun to photo)
The guy in the glasses, his name Trevor Strnad he's in a band called "THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER" (really heavy, hardcore meets metal type stuff).
I'm into a little bit of every kind of music. VERY open mind when it comes to music.
But my favorite stuff is mostly 80's rock and pop punk type stuff.
Guns N' Roses,Motley Crue,(old) Nofx,(old) Misfits,Black Sabbath is some of my favorite all time stuff.
