I am got audited at Atlanta. and I know many Chinese like me were stuck there too.

That is exactly my point that Perm Audit is not focused on Nationality, Field or EB category. If most people are from India, China, Philippines then automatically most audit cases are going to be from these countries.

We started the recurring contributions system Monday night and we sent out emails to 8400 individuals in addition to posting on this site.
Out of 8400, we have nearly a whopping 35 people signed up for recurring contributions. This is below the lowest of low expectations.
There is such a thing as Timing.
We all know that contributions reach peak time when Immigration debate is on CSPAN.
But what most people must realize is that when the bills are debated on the committees and floors, its too difficult at that later stage to make difference.
At that stage first of all you need a sponsor for your amendment, then you need the majority/minority leader to allow floor time for debate on that amendment and then you need votes to get the amendment passed.
Getting things done before committee level, in the original text requires action now, NOW IS THE TIME, when you dont hear about immigration in the news, but behind the scenes, things are happening.
So if you are holding on to your contributions until you start seeing debate and action on the hill, chances are that it will be late at the time and then those funds cannot be translated into usable resources.
Things take time and planning ahead of time and working ahead of time is something that highly skilled professionals must value.
If we start hearing rumours of layoff, we start looking for jobs...right? Or do we wait until we are actually laid off and on the streets? Why cant we be working ahead of time when it comes to this organization's efforts??????
What is your message to core group?
Its the call of overall 8400 membership. Perhaps the membership, with its slow response, is sending a message that core group is wasting its time doing all this and we should shut down and go on with our lives. If that is the case, then that is fine too. All these efforts of maintaing the website, travelling to DC, maintaining the relationship with our lobbyist and a half a dozen allies....all this takes time and energy. If we dont have support then I guess the core group is the most idiot group of half a million highly skilled immigrants wasting its time.
One way or the other...I guess we will know in the next month or so.

Of course but the fact that they did unethical things is not an excuse for this indian companies to do the same.
dohko, The point of satishku_2000's post was that all companies follow the similar business practices. It doesn't make any difference if it is TCS or IBM, Anderson or Infosys. They are all same bunch of people, just different names. So your repeated rant about "indian companies" is not valid any more. We have someone who worked for IBM for 8 years and got 2 pay checks on bench. So now, lets not squabble without any reason.

I quoted a fact (rational and valid) to argue your assumptions. I never even claimed to know what USCIS would do and how they would present the data. It was you who presented a theory to justify that we should not go with any change in the spill over. I want to know why you dont want EB3I not to proceed with this measure. Is it because you believe it will take away numbers from EB2 or EB3I is doomed with plenty of cases and any amount will not make any changes. I believe its perhaps the earlier than the later. See, we all have our needs and we all want to look for ourselves first (including you and me). Its basic human nature. We all can generate obfuscatory facts to push our agenda. My experience with CGI houston was after waiting on call for 1 hr in queue with counting down my position in queue, IVR informed me that "No one is available to answer my call press 0 for operator" , this goes in loop. I never was able to speak to a person any time during my passport was with CGI houston.
My advise if you are dealing with CGI houston is Send your passport and forget about month or so you will receive renewal after month.

I am surprised to find out that someone is still trading in the stock market. It seems CNN just reported that everyone who used to trade stocks have declared bankruptcy or were thrown in jail for running a ponzi scheme, so no one is left in the stock market. Just wanted to let you know that I've booked my ticket and will be attending the advocacy days on both days. This is my first time coming to the advocacy days and am looking forward to it. I'll registering for the event tomorrow, but wanted to pass on the information.

I think the current state of disagreement is good because at least everything is out in the open and up for fighting. If this bill had to be scuttled it could have been done very quietly. But there are enough people out there who will make sure that there is no easy death for this bill. It is a fight and a lot of egos will need to appeased in the process.
How much will we gain out of it in the end as skilled legal immigrants may not be necessarily in our control during this whole process as illegal voices are more stronger and we are really considered compromisable. It will be up to our well wisher politicians and vested business interests to push something in our favor.

i just looked at the amendments in detail and this provision was in SA 180.
I am a bit unsure though of what happened to SA 180. Did it get amended by some other amendment. It does not appear to have been tabled. I apologize to everyone but I had stated right in the beginning that I may be totally wrong.
