The approval has from Feb16th to so and so time. It does not talk anything about the time between spet/04 to feb16/05. So this is called pending status, that's why there is confusion regarding this matter.
Anybody was in similar situation? or recaptured this time to file H1?

I renewed my passport under tatkal this month. I mailed application overnight on Thursday and Monday got a call from Houston that Money Order attached is less 50 than actual. I mailed balance next day overnight, it reached them on Wednesday and got my passport after 4 business days.

Is this true ? I thought one can .... as long as the person's H1 is not thru his/her owned company.

It looks like most people want to believe just what is good for them. I have yet to see the document that says "It is illegal to issue interim visa bulletins or stop accepting applications mid month".

Be concerned and be VERY CONCERNED. Being in denial will not help. Work with the assumption that the dates might go back any time. If your conditions does not permit you to file in the first week there is not much you can do. Tough luck if the dates go back. But if there are things you can do , please do...
I will give you an example, It is very difficult to get medical appointments where I live and the first opportunity was July last week. I traveled 120 miles (not much) and got mine done last week, where as a friend of mine did not want travel and took the local appointment for Jul 3rd week assuming he can file by Jul31. With the change in dynamics he has to revise the plans and may not get the appointment 120 miles away.
I mean to say, work with the goal to apply ASAP.

Let's not assume that visas wasted by USCIS would have been allocated to India or China. This would not have happened as these countries can not get more visa numbers than the numerical cap of 7% of the world-wide EB quota.
I'm sorry, anyone who thinks that the Priority Dates were shifted so visas would not be wasted are deluded.
Come on - the visas were going to go to waste because there was not enough manpower at UCSIS to process the applications. In what way WHATSOEVER, has this changed because there are more applications?!

Did not mean to interject the spate of good news coming some folks' way.. but isn't it ironical that we have a forum dedicated to obtaining GC plus there are folks who are current this month but have not received the good news, .. but there is still this Advert on the bottom of the page asking "if you would like to work and live in the USA, apply for green Card" And i know very well it does not apply to EB I,C...
just shows how messed up the system is.

For filing I 485 I know you need to submit birth certificate and marriage certificate. Do both of these have to be originals or copies are fine ?

copies are fine; in fact, you must NEVER send originals. They will not return them. you should keep originals with yourself in case they ask for them during interview (if interview is needed).

No impact on BEC approvals on retrogression, BECAUSE THEY NEED TO GET I-140 to be approved, then only their case to be on the line for visa number. Now no premium processing, their I-140 is going to get approved dring May OR June 2008. Till then the guys with I-140 approved and filed in June 2007 get GC. BEC approvals on 2001, 2002, 2003 cases after june 30th (last date for premium) will be on above catagory.
I agree with you. That's the reason I feel USCIS is just taking time to get their act together and move forward with PD.
I am very doubtful that DOS would open the gates completely next July (like this year) as they had very bad experience. But EB3 dates may move to early 2005 (March 2005 may be - before PERM was launched) and EB2 close to 2006.

Depends on lot of factors. I have been trading for last 10 years. I don't trade stocks. I trade index futures sp500 and Nasdaq mini. It is short term - couple of hours to maximum couple of days. Day Trading requires good analytical skills for technical charts and lot of discipline to follow enter and exit rules.
Taxes are computed differently for futures trading. You will need this IRS form (6781 Gains and Losses From Section 1256 Contracts and Straddles) to file your taxes for trading futures.

I agree. They are mostly snake oil. I suggest - do some reading and follow some indicators and come up with Trading Strategy. It is recommended to do paper trading before starting trading with real money.

The provision is now part of the minimum wage legislation being considered on the Senate floor.
"I've been working for 21 years on the Committee to promote expanded entrepreneurial opportunities for women and secure funding for these centers which help turn ideas into jobs, start-ups into success," said Kerry, Chairman of the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. "I cannot stress enough the vital role Women's Business Centers play in cities all around the country, like Boston and Worcester. This amendment ensures we will be providing women-owned small businesses the tools they need to grow and flourish."
"We cannot afford to ignore, or minimize, the extraordinary contributions America's business women are making to our economy, our culture, and our future. The achievements of women entrepreneurs are undeniable. Women-owned firms generate almost $2.5 trillion in revenues. They employ more than 19 million workers and are the fastest growing segment of today�s economy. In my home state of Maine alone, more than 63,000 women-owned firms generate an astounding $9 billion in sales," said Snowe. "Today, I am pleased to join Small Business Committee Chairman John Kerry and Senator Sununu with this amendment so women small business owners have the resources, the support and the opportunities they need and deserve."
Senator Sununu said: "Women's Business Centers contribute to the strength and diversity of the small business community, as we know from the great example set by Portsmouth's facility. Centers that have performed at a high level should have the option of applying for additional help to enable their important work to continue. The amendment is similar to language that passed out of the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship last summer as part of S. 3778, the comprehensive Small Business Administration reauthorization bill, which is based on the Women's Business Center Sustainability Pilot Program Kerry created in 1999.
Specifically, the amendment allows established Women's Business Centers to apply for 3-year grants on an ongoing basis. This permanent stream of federal funding is critical to helping the Centers secure matching private funds. My employer says that he has lodged my PERM in July 2008. As yet there is no news and neither does he provide any information regarding the status. Is there anything I can do to find out whether the PERM has been lodged at all? What are my options?
