My friend will come from India on H1B first time to Atlanta Air port this weekend. His H1B was approved for year 2008 and his stamping was done in early 2009. His H1B is from small desi consulting company. What kind of questions he may face? Any inputs will highly appreciated.

I opened a SR on July 24 2008. My priority date was going to be current starting Aug 2008, but still representative was kind enough to open SR for me . Guess at that time they were not getting bombarded by volume of calls.
It is almost 20 days and I have not received any response. CSR say it takes upto 45 days to respond.
- Did any body get a response back on their SR
- How much time it took to get response
- What format response is - Email / Letter / Call (are there any LUD's also)
- What is the content / detail level of response [Considering most of us are opening SR for case status and pending NC]

You have the receipt number that itself suggest that USCIS has accepted your application. It doesn't entail anything about the decision though.
These days its taking too much time. If you filed premium then you can expect something 2weeks but if it's regular then you are mercy and depending on the case.
I got approval for my wife through premium last week but USCIS website doesn't have any record for her receipt number.

When it comes to the community organizing and support activities for the comprehensive immigration reform legislation, there are hundreds of organizations that organize, network, and mobilize the immigrants in support of the issues involving the difficult issues of legalization of illegal aliens. However, the same is not true with the employment-based immigration reform issues. The lobbying and organizing and support of these issues rely heavily on the employers, businesses, and academic institutions such as competeamerica. Without doubt, the employers should be the most effective and powerful groups to pressure the Congress, President, and other players in the political process.
However, it is time that the immigrants themselves also participate in a similar effort to share information, issues, and supporting activities. Obviously, the first move is to organize and build a network throuhout the nation and the world, and along with the networking, other support activities must be conducted and expanded. There are not too many immigrant groups that are focused on the employment-based immigration reform issues. Currently, a website of www.immigrationvoice.org is launching this campaign and attempting to organize and network in the employment-based immigrant communities. This reporter urges the foreign professional workers to visit and join this group to help an activities of side-kick from the standpoint of stakeholder foreign workers in support of the employers and their support groups. "Networking" will create a power in the political process.

Hi,
I filed my EAD and AP renewal on Sept 17 (20 days) ago but still I haven't heard received neither receipt notice nor my check being cashed. Is there anything we can do to find out about the receipt notice? Fedex tracking shows the mail being already delivered. I am currently working on EAD and recently used AC21 to switch the company so EAD is very important to me.
Please provide your feedback and if anyone is having same delays in getting receipt notice for EAD / AP.

Did you send your application by Fedex or some other courier that had tracking? Are you able to track when the package(s) reached the Service Center? Which Service Center did you filed your applications at?

I had my H1b till Nov 16, 2010 with Company1
Company2 applied for H1b transfer and it was approved as of Nov 08, 2010 ( but we didn't get any notification about it it's approval until few weeks later)
Company1 filed for H1b extension on Nov 10, 2010
I properly resigned Company1 on Nov 30, 2010 and started working with Company2 on Dec 1, 2010
Somehow Company1 didn't terminate my H1b extension and it got approved as of Jan 18, 2011.
1) Which status am I in? What decides my status?
2) Can I continue working for Company2 without any problems? Has this new approval put my transfer in jeopardy?
3) Do I need to update Company2 about Company1's extension approval?
4) Do I need to leave the Country to do any stamping?
Please help!!
You can have multiple H1B visas at a time ...no problem..... both your H1B's are valid
you can work for both employers at a time if you can :)

Similar case. My lawyer told me that we can't apply the second I140 under premium because the original labor is gone with the first I140. So, I could not wait for second I140 and went ahead and filed for 485 under EB3.

I have my green card interview end of this month in Indianapolis. Not sure why I was called for interview at this time as I have a EB3 India case with a PD of June 2007. I am a july 2007 filer. A receipt of notice is generated immediately. As soon as your application reaches the USCIS ofice they generate the receipt of notice and post mail it to the attorney. It takes 2-3 days for the mail to reach your attorney so we can assume that the total time to get the receipt of notice from the day it was filed should not be greater than 4-5 days.
